Explore the qualitative research literature, autobiographical literature and the illness experience literature to identify and theorise common findings experienced by individual/s and/or their families following the development of cancer.

An illness trajectory encompasses the experiences of a person as they journey through their life following the development of illness. Whilst it is acknowledged that everyone’s illness experience is unique there are common experiences. Qualitative research studies uncover these common findings and also emphasise how becoming ill can disturb the person’s ability to function, interact with others and, ultimately, experience life.
Explore the qualitative research literature, autobiographical literature and the illness experience literature to identify and theorise common findings experienced by individual/s and/or their families following the development of cancer.
Reference to at least eight (8) qualitative research articles (identified from the qualitative research databases) as well as reference to the illness experience theorists is required. references 18 in all.
