THE POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY MODEL

THE POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY MODEL

Using the module readings, Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, research the positive psychology model. Then, based on your research, do the following:
Select one of the featured elements of the positive psychology model on which you will prepare an application for the APPA Conference call for proposals as stated in the flier. Develop a PowerPoint presentation as part of your application. Cover the following points in your presentation: Discuss the foundational information for positive psychology and the featured element or concept of positive psychology on which you have chosen to focus. Analyze and apply current research to support the efficacy of this element or concept of positive psychology. Provide a minimum of three scholarly references of research conducted within the past five years. Argue the benefits of this element or concept in contrast to two different techniques in general psychotherapy such as cognitive restructuring (from cognitive/behavioral theory) or dream analysis (from psychodynamic theory). Summarize several significant factors that contribute to a positive outlook based on current research. Analyze the potential advantages of this positive outlook and what changes would need to be implemented to impact the mental health field. Be sure to include a title slide and a slide with a list of scholarly references. Remember to include detailed speaker notes for each slide in your presentation. Develop a 15–20-slide presentation in PowerPoint format. Each slide should contain 75–100 words of description and research. Apply APA standards to citation of sources. Describe how cultural-based behavior patterns specific to certain segments of the population impact these biases and assumptions, particularly relative to psychological profiling in law enforcement

PSYCHOLOGY TO CRIMINAL INVESTIGATORS AND INVESTIGATIONS

There is a documented psychology to criminal investigators and investigations. It is important to analyze how our biases and assumptions influence our assessment of individuals and to analyze and understand psychological profiling in law enforcement. This provides a platform to determine cultural-based behavior patterns that may be specific to certain segments of the population. It is also important to understand the impact of these events and the psychological ramifications for victims and for investigators. • Analyze the behavior of the investigator(s), including the analysis of the crime scene. • Describe the psychological, behavioral, environmental, and cognitive factors that you believe influenced the investigation. (The goal is to understand the role these factors play in how an investigation is conducted and potentially on the outcome of the investigation.) • Discuss what role, if any, the psychological profile of the offender played in how the investigation was conducted and in any subsequent court proceedings. • Analyze how our biases and assumptions influence assessments of individuals. • Describe how cultural-based behavior patterns specific to certain segments of the population impact these biases and assumptions, particularly relative to psychological profiling in law enforcement. The Investigative Psychology paper • Must be at least three double-spaced pages in length (not including title and reference pages) and formatted according to APA style • Must include a separate title page with the following: o Title of paper o Student’s name o Course name and number o Instructor’s name o Date submitted • Must use at least two scholarly sources in addition to the course texts. • Must document all sources in APA style

PSYCHOLOGY PAPER

Assignment 2: RA: Ethical Autobiography Report NO PLAG IF SO WILL EB RETURNED NO DO OVERS

Counselors have an ethical responsibility to provide professional services that demonstrate respect for the cultural worldviews, values, and traditions of culturally diverse clients. To the extent that counselors are focused on the values of the dominant culture and insensitive to variations among groups and individuals, they are at risk for practicing unethically. However, how do you know that you are on your way to becoming a culturally competent professional? This assignment will help uncover your multicultural background as well as any potential challenges you may face in counseling clients from diverse backgrounds.

Tasks:

In a3 page Microsoft Word document, respond to the following:

  • Autobiography: Develop an autobiographical report detailing your multicultural background and the development of your personal values and beliefs.
    • Identify and include significant ethical and cultural milestones and use these to differentiate distinct stages of your professional ethical development during your academic, career, and social development.
    • Identify and include no less than three values that are a significant part of who you are as a person and as a professional.
    • Synthesize how you think these personal values are related to your family or cultural systems.
  • Reflection: Reflect and address the following:
    • Explain how this ethical autobiography relates to your identity as a professional counselor.
    • Given your ethical value system, determine any potential conflicts in values that might emerge between you (as a professional counselor) and your clients. Describe how you will manage these conflicts in counseling.
    • Determine what, if any, values might impact your ability to effectively apply professional codes of ethics (e.g., ACA, the NBCC, the American Mental Health Counselors Association [AMHCA], etc.) or relevant laws (identify specific codes/laws). Explain what risk management strategies you will apply to be able to overcome these values conflicts.
    • Explain what risk management strategies you will apply to be able to overcome these values conflicts. Be sure to articulate clearly how you know that you are addressing your client’s presenting problems in a clinically effective way.

Integrate and apply the most recent peer-reviewed literature and empirical research in your responses.

Your final product will be in a Microsoft Word document and be approximately 3 pages in length. Utilize three to five sources from professional literature in your research (do not include relevant codes of ethics and laws). Professional literature may include the Argosy University online library resources, relevant textbooks, peer-reviewed journal articles, and websites created by professional organizations, agencies, or institutions (.edu or .gov).
