Write a 1,400- to 1,700-word paper in which you identify each issue and make recommendations to JC, the casino president, on how to improve overall retention.

Improving Organization Retention Paper

Read the following scenario:
You are an independent consultant who has recently been hired by JC’s Casino to help improve retention issues concerning the dealers and housekeepers.  Most of the dealers have been leaving the casino to work at other casinos in the area, even though JC’s Casino pays better than their local competition.  On several exit interviews, many of the dealers have cited the pit boss, Joe, as being “toxic, overbearing, evil, and incompetent.”  Joe is the casino owner’s step-son and the HR director, Tom Sneed, is afraid to confront the owner.
Among the housekeeping staff, there has been an above normal rate of absenteeism and high turnover of rooms.  Many of the managers who work in accounting, payroll, and other departments have had to ask their full-time employees to help cover for housekeeping by cleaning rooms periodically.  Because of this problem, the hotel has had to adjust their check in times from 3 p.m. (the industry standard) to 6 p.m.  Customers have arrived earlier and the hotel has had to accommodate them by creating a room to hold luggage.  They have also had to hire staff to man the luggage room.
The director of housekeeping, Andrew Keehn, has been working hard to add more staff but he states “good help is hard to find.”  The housekeeper’s current hourly wage is comparable to other casinos in the area but because of the staffing shortage, the housekeepers have to clean more rooms per day than their counterparts.  The casino owner only knows that there are some issues with keeping the dealers and that some customers were upset because they had to wait to check in.  You have been hired for a quick fix and your suggestions were needed yesterday.
Write a 1,400- to 1,700-word paper in which you identify each issue and make recommendations to JC, the casino president, on how to improve overall retention. What the scenario does not provide, you can create. Be sure to include the following in your assessment:
·
Evaluate at least two work motivation theories and how they can be applied in order to improve employee recruitment and retention at JC’s Casino.
·
Examine possible occupational stressors that are negatively influencing recruitment and retention.  What improvements would you suggest to alleviate these stressors?
·
Examine the role of job satisfaction and its influence on retention at the casino. Provide recommendations for improving job satisfaction of the employees and how that can play a part in successfully improving retention.
·
Discuss counterproductive employee behavior occurring at the casino. What suggestions would you make to reduce the counterproductive behavior and increase productive employee behavior?
Include at least four references.
Format your paper consistent with APA guidelines.

Write a 3- to 4-page paper based on the results and implications.

Psych Statistics Paper 4

A human resources (HR) manager wants to know if annual performance review scores can be predicted by the number of vacation days taken during the year and the number of dependents an employee claims. She randomly pulls the vacation, W-2, and performance review records of twenty employees. The data is presented below.
Using the above data, run a correlation matrix and then run a regression analysis in Microsoft Excel that will answer the human resources (HR) manager’s question. Examine the results and consider the implications. Write a 3- to 4-page paper based on the results and implications. Make sure to include your data printout and justify your responses. In your paper, address the following questions:

  • Identify the R-squared value for this data set, along with the R-value. Explain what each means.
  • Describe what the F-test and the p value tell us in general and name each for these data sets and analyses.
  • Explain what can be learned from the multiple regression that may not be known from the correlation matrix.
  • Justify whether performance review scores can be predicted by the number of days of vacation taken, dependents claimed, or vacation days taken in combination with the number of dependents. Support your position.
  • Describe any potential ethical or legal concerns related to this research. Provide a rationale backed by authoritative references to support your position.

Your final product should include your Microsoft Excel computations and a 3- to 4-page Microsoft Word document. Utilize a minimum of three scholarly sources.
Use the following headings and subheadings to organize your paper:

  • Defining and explaining concepts
    • Prediction
    • R-squared and R-value
    • F-test
    • p value
    • Correlation coefficient versus regression weight (beta value)
  • Results
  • Discussion and implications of results
  • References
  • Appendix (Microsoft Excel printout)

Job fairs in minority communities

Psych employee paper 4

Acme Inc. has hired you to help in evaluating the effectiveness and impact of the diversity recruiting initiatives it put into place one year ago. Previously, Acme had focused most of its recruiting efforts toward driving applicants’ traffic to its corporate website and job postings. While this approach yielded some excellent new hires, the board of directors noticed that the new hires were not a very diverse group. Three additional recruiting initiatives were incorporated into the Acme recruitment plan with the goal of increasing the diversity of new hires. The following are the three initiatives:

  • Minority college recruiting
  • Job fairs in minority communities
  • Mining diversity websites such as the diversity employment exchange

The human resources (HR) manager has been asked to report to the Acme board of directors next month regarding the impact of these initiatives. He or she has hired you to help him or her understand which of the recruiting methods made the best impression of Acme as a potential employer among the recruits. Every applicant was asked to complete a survey at the end of his or her recruiting experience. One of the survey items asked the recruit to rate how likely he or she would be to accept a job offer from Acme. The item was rated using a 5-point Likert-scale item ranging from 1 (definitely would not accept) to 5 (definitely would accept). The data from that question is provided below. Using ANOVA, analyze the data and report the results.

In your report, include:

  • The Microsoft Excel printout of your ANOVA results.
  • Your interpretation of the results. In other words, was there a significant difference between the recruiting methods in terms of likelihood of accepting a job offer?

Drawing upon this data and the scholarly literature, provide recommendations for Acme’s human resources (HR) manager with regard to continuing diversity recruitment efforts. Include three recommendations to help Acme Inc. continue to grow its diversity efforts in an ethical and legal manner.
Present your work in a 3- to 4-page (excluding references) Microsoft Word document. Use APA style for writing.
