How does research affect existing medical knowledge and practice?

Need help writing a paper

Preparation
Search the Capella library and the Internet for scholarly and professional peer-reviewed articles on evidence-based nursing practice. You will need at least three articles to use as support for your work on this assessment.
Directions
As a health care professional and a new BSN learner you have been asked to contribute a professional blog post on evidence-based practice to a new Web site for student nurses. The site editor has asked you to write a post that explores the following key questions:

  1. How does research affect existing medical knowledge and practice?
  2. How can evidence-based patient care improve the quality of care?
  3. What types of clinical strategies help foster an evidence-based nursing practice?
  4. Which component of the nursing process is evidence-based practice aligned with?

When writing a blog post, keep in mind that long blocks of text are hard for readers to digest, especially when reading on mobile devices. Format your document by breaking up your content into shorter paragraphs, bullet points, and lists whenever possible. Subheadings should be used to provide focus.
Additional Requirements
Your blog post should meet the following criteria:

  • Contain 750–1000 words (3–4 pages).
  • Include a title and reference page.
  • Be readable, concise, with a logical ordering of ideas.
  • Provide a sound rationale for ideas, including background supported by professional references.
  • Provide adequate documentation of ideas and appropriate APA citation of relevant literature.
  • Use a minimum of three references. (These must be recent, from within the past five years).

Based on the potential problem you encountered for Family Nurse Practitioners, write a 4 pages document providing a critical evaluation on that research through an annotated bibliography

Annotated bibliography paper

Based on the potential problem you encountered for Family Nurse Practitioners, write a 4 pages document providing a critical evaluation on that research through an annotated bibliography. An annotated bibliography is a brief summary and analysis of the journal article reviewed. A total of four annotated bibliographies are to be submitted (one page each). The articles must come from nursing scholarly literature, may not be older than 5 years since publication, must be research based and reflect a quantitative methodology. Web pages, magazines, textbooks, and other books are not acceptable.
Each annotation must address the following critical elements:

  • Explanation of the main purpose and scope of the cited work
  • Brief description of the research conducted
  • Value and significance of the work (e.g., study’s findings, scope of the research project) as a contribution to the subject under consideration
  • Possible shortcomings or bias in the work
  • Conclusions or observations reached by the author
  • Summary as to why this research lends evidence to support the potential problem identified specific to your role option.

Health Policy Paper

Health policy unfolds daily and drives clinical practice in the U.S. You will investigate current policies or legislation underway for a specific health-related issue and develop a scholarly, APA-formatted paper supported by evidence. The policy paper rubric:

  • Introduction to population or problem (incidence, prevalence, epidemiology, cost burden, etc.)
  • Description of how the policy is intended for a specific population, program, or organization
  • Specific legislators involved in the policy development and dissemination
  • Identify the role of the APRN in assisting with the policy or refuting the policy – this requires the evidence to support opinion, ideas, and/or concepts
  • Discuss how the policy influences clinical practice and is used to promote best outcomes
  • Examine how the policy can be used by the interprofessional team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for the specific population
  • Conclusion – summarize findings
  • APA format – use of primary peer-reviewed references as much as possible
