Question descriptionOrganization: Ryanair
Explanation of what I want to do based on my overall Capstone Project.
Going through Master of Science in Leadership got me deeply thinking about the importance of leadership in organizations. The initial idea for this project was born out of the need to first ensure good leadership foundations are installed before coming up with advanced leadership programs. Apparently, there are many organizations in which leadership is inexistent at worse and aggressive at best. In my opinion, however, having an aggressive leadership style is having no leadership at all. Ryanair is a perfect example. Having made headlines over the recent years for all bad reasons, the airline has held the world’s record for the second worst brand for some time now. Its leadership or lack of it not only manifest in poor management of staff but extends to poor customer service. Even though the airline has had success in turning earnings for the better, it still lacks a positive approach to engaging staff in making decisions that affect them (Nwagbara, 2011).
The kind of project I am interested in conducting at Ryanair is one which will lead to setting up appropriate foundations that will enable the implementation of professional development and mentorship programs. I feel that this project will be useful to the airline in terms of changing the leadership styles from an aggressive one to a more participatory one where employees feel part of the solution. This will improve employee commitment, morale and hence productivity. It will enhance collaboration rather than promote competition among employees when tackling similar objectives for similar ends. Essentially, when people make decisions jointly there is a great commitment to one another and to the cause as well as positive reaction to the decision itself.

Below are two discussion posts that needs to be 250 words or more with at least one reference each.
1. At the end of this topic, you will submit a needs analysis for your capstone project. After reviewing the Capstone Project Needs Analysis assignment parameters, describe the primary goal(s) of your capstone project in one or two sentences.
2. Based on the planned scope of your capstone project, what type of needs analysis tool (e.g., coaching, training) would you need to select? Provide a brief rationale.
Assignment:
Capstone Project Needs Analysis
Before finalizing your capstone project, it is important to make sure that your vision and goals align with current needs of the organization. Research needs analysis tools and templates and select the most appropriate one based on the goal of your capstone. Conduct the needs analysis and write a 500-750-word paper that includes the following:

  1. The intended scope and purpose of your capstone project.
  2. A description of the needs analysis tool/template you chose, and a brief rationale for why it is the most appropriate.
  3. A summary of your findings from the needs analysis.

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.
You are required to submit this assignment to Turnitin. Please refer to the directions in the Student Success Center.

Question descriptionDetails: chapters 3 & 4
The final capstone project is a culmination of the written research-based assignments completed throughout the course. Each written assignment contributes to the final Evidenced-Based Proposal paper. This is the second written assignment.
Locate a minimum of 15 peer-reviewed articles that describe the problem or issue and that support the proposed solution. Eight of the 15 articles must be research-based (i.e., a study which is qualitative, quantitative, descriptive, or longitudinal).
The “Table of Evidence” document is a tool you can use to organize information from the study articles you have chosen for your literature review. Use this tool as a guide to ensure you have captured the key information that should be incorporated into your literature review narrative.
Begin your search for literature by utilizing the databases located in the GCU Library. Contact your instructor, the librarian, or library staff for additional researching tips and keyword suggestions.
Preview each of the 15 articles chosen by reading the article abstracts and summaries. Article abstracts and summaries provide a concise description of the topic, research outcomes, and significance of findings.
Analysis and Appraisal
Write an analysis and appraisal (1,500-2,000 words): This section should build and support your case, in the reader’s mind, of why your problem, purpose, and proposed solution are valid.
Remember, you are building an argument to prove your case to do this project; this is not simply an article review.
Analyze and appraise the selected articles to support your problem, purpose, and solution. Appraise each article by answering the following questions (one to two sentences is sufficient to answer each question):

  1. How does the article describe the nature of the problem, issue, or deficit you have identified?
  2. Does the article provide statistical information to demonstrate the gravity of the issue, problem, or deficit?
  3. What are some examples of morbidity, mortality, and rate of incidence or rate of occurrence in the general population?
  4. Does the article support your proposed change?

Group the analyses based on the content of the articles and the support each article provides for your project.
Incorporating a Theory
In addition to the review of the literature and theory paper, write a paper of 250-500 words in which you:

  1. Find a theory that will assist you in your implementation or support your solution to your problem.
  2. Describe this theory in simple terms.
  3. Describe why this theory supports your project.
  4. Describe how you will incorporate this theory.

Determine what the project objective will be, and define the scope of the project.

Question description
Continue using the Project Charter/Project Management Plan template that you previously submitted, and add the new pertinent information for the following sections: Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Project Schedule, Budget, Communications Matrix, and Risk Matrix.
Based on the project charter that you developed in Unit 1, you will now proceed with your project planning. You have determined that you need to define the scope and complete your work breakdown structure (WBS) to the lowest level work package, which will help you develop the activities for the project schedule. You will also determine the overall project budget and plan the communications within the project. You will identify risks that may affect the project. The requirements for this section are as follows:

  • Define the scope: Determine what the project objective will be, and define the scope of the project.
  • Create the WBS: Start with the high-level deliverable, and add the lower level elements to include the lowest level work package.
  • Develop the project schedule: Based on the work packages, determine the activities for the project schedule, and add planned beginning and end dates for the activities. You should have a minimum of 10 activities.
  • Determine the budget: Using the WBS and project schedule, determine the overall project budget. Include major categories such as materials, labor, and other expenses.
  • Plan communications: Using the stakeholders you identified in the project charter, create a matrix to show the plan for communicating with these stakeholders. Include each stakeholder’s name, the content to be communicated, the frequency of communication, and the method.
  • Identify risks: Additionally, identify the risks that are associated with the project. Include both threats and improvement opportunities.

Improving Medication
Administration Safety in the
Clinical Environment
Work interruptions create
danger at the bedside,
particularly during medication
administration. A work
interruption can be as simple as a
telephone call, noise, or an invitation
to conversation by a member
of the healthcare team, patient, or
family member while the nurse is
preparing medications. Medication
errors are a major concern for
patients and can lead to unnecessary
safety risks (Karavasiliadou &
Athanasakis, 2014). Reduction of
interruptions and associated errors
with medication administration is
essential.
Project Site and Reasons
for Change
The identified need for change
was reduction of errors and distractions
during medication administration.
The current use of a no-interruption
zone on a medical-surgical
unit was identified by the project
leader as an area for improvement
based on repeated observations of
nurses’ nonadherence to the zone
during eight random visits. Nurses,
other unit staff, and interprofessional
team members appeared unaware
of or ignored the purpose of the nointerruption
zone.
Some institutions have adopted
use of medication safety vests for
nurses to wear to alert colleagues
and patients of their involvement in
medication administration. According
to Williams, King, Thompson,
and Champagne (2014), safety vests,
posted signs, highlighted decorative
aprons, and sashes have been used
to reduce work interruptions. The
project leader decided to incorporate
situation awareness (SA) with the
use of a medication safety vest and
signage on the nursing unit and
within patient rooms (“Do Not
Disturb the Nurse during Medication
Administration”). SA refers to a
practitioner’s conscious awareness
of a circumstance or situation (Stubbings,
Chaboyer, & McMurray,
2012). An educational in-service
reinforced the purpose and rationale
for the project
