Instructions:
For your Capstone Project, you will be performing research on a real-life healthcare organization. Drawing upon your learning in previous courses, you will be asked to analyze various facets and provide a detailed picture of the organization. The Capstone will consist of three sections. Each section is to be 1,600–2,000 words. Each section should have at least four references so there is a total of 12 references for the final Capstone Project submission in Unit 9.
Section 1 – Submitted in Unit 2
Proposal and introduction of project

  • Select hospital
  • Write introduction
  • State selected organization
  • State rational behind the selection of the organization

Analysis of the organization

  • Describe the organization’s structure:
    • Facility physical settings
    • Patient or client base
    • Level of clinical activity and research
    • Describe the mission, vision, and goals of the organization and how the organization supports these items
    • Community and global impact

Compose your sections using Standard American English as described in the APA guidelines available at Kaplan University Writing Center. You need to follow formal APA formatting for the project and include a title page and a reference page. Make sure you cite your reference in the text and on the reference page using proper APA format.
Your instructor will make suggestions for improvement and provide follow-up needed for Sections 1 and 2. It is your responsibility to incorporate instructor feedback into the final presentation in order to achieve full credit.

Assignment 4: Interpreting the Results of a Survey

Interpreting the Results of a Survey, health and medicine homework help

Question descriptionAssignment 4: Interpreting the Results of a Survey
Due Week 10 and worth 150 points
Begin this project by reading the article titled “The Role of Nurses in the Sexual Counseling of Patients after Myocardial Infarction”, located at http://www.hsj.gr/medicine/the-role-of-nurses-in-t…. The authors examined the role of nursing in sexual counseling of myocardial patients. They also examined professional nurses and collected data about their gender, age, education, unit of employment, and experience in cardiac clinics. They then compared the knowledge and comfort level that nurses had with regard to sexual counseling.
Address each of the following six (6) items. Answer each item in one (1) or more complete sentences. Each item is worth twenty five (25) points:

  1. Identify the dependent variables from the study.
  2. If the knowledge is measured by the score in points that the nurse receives on a test, determine the type of variable (e.g., quantitative, qualitative, continuous, categorical, etc.) and the level of measurement. Explain your answer.
  3. If these researchers conducted surveys at a nursing conference, determine the type of sample and explain how this affects generalizability of the results.
  4. Express a null hypothesis and an alternative hypothesis for this study. Explain your rationale.
  5. Provide your conclusion from the following data. Explain your response.

The study has an alpha of 0.05 and a power of 80%. The researchers found a relationship between the unit that the nurses worked on and the knowledge scores with a p-value of 0.01.

  1. Provide your conclusion about the comfort level of nurses from different units if they found a p-value of 0.17 when comparing nurses from different units. Explain your response. Estimate the range of the F-value if they found p > 0.17 when comparing nurses from different units and their comfort level. Explain your response.

Question description

Please develop each topic in a discussion form. Follow carefully the instructions for each topic. APA style is mandatory( this also including the cited references for each topic).

1.Select one of the conceptual models or theories described in chapter 6. Formulate a research question and one to two hypotheses that could be used empirically to test the utility of the conceptual framework or model in nursing practice.

2.Suppose you are going to conduct a study utilizing Quantitative Research Design: which type of research would you use, and which method would you utilize to collect data and select your sample.

3.Describe why you were to chose a specific method to select a sample over other method. Defend the method you preferred.

4.Suppose you were planning to conduct a statewide study of the work plans and intentions of nonemployed registered nurses in your state. Would you ask mostly open-ended questions or closed-ended questions? Defend your answer.
5.Which level of measurement would you preferred to utilize for a quantitative research? Defend your answer.
6.In your opinion which of the following topics is best suited to a phenomenological inquiry? To a ethnography? To a grounded theory study? Provide a rational for each response.a-The passage through menarche among Hatian refugee
b-The process of coping among AIDS patients
c-The experience of having a child with leukemia
d-Rituals relating to dying among nursing home residents
e-Decision making processes among nurses regarding do-not-resucitate orders

7.Suppose you are going to conduct a study utilizing Qualitative Research Design: which type of research would you use, and which method would you utilize to collect data and select your sample.
8.Read a qualitative nursing study. If a different investigator had gone into the field to study the same problem, how likley is it that the conclusions would have been the same? How transferable are the research’s findings?
9.You have been asked to be a peer reviewer for a team of nurse researchers who are conducting a phenomenological study of the experiences of physical abuse during pregnancy. What specific questions would you ask the team during debriefing and what documents would you want the researchers to share?

Write a research proposal using your clinical question formulated earlier in the course

Write a research proposal using your clinical question formulated earlier in the course

Question descriptionThe purpose of a research proposal is to identify and formulate questions that arise from nursing practice and to design a research project to study the identified problem. The goal of a research proposal is to present and justify a research idea you have and to present the practical ways in which you think this research should be conducted. Research proposals contain extensive literature reviews and must provide persuasive evidence that there is a need for the proposed research study. In addition to providing a rationale for the proposed research, a proposal describes detailed methodology for conducting the research consistent with requirements of the professional or academic field and a statement on anticipated outcomes and/or benefits derived from the study.
Directions
Write a research proposal using your clinical question formulated earlier in the course that was approved by your instructor. This may be either a qualitative or quantitative research proposal. Your proposal must include APA formatting. The proposal should be a 6–10 in length plus appendices cover page, and reference page. The appendices should include your survey instrument created in week 6. You will be presenting your research proposal in a 6–8 minute recorded presentation in week 8.
