As part of the preparations for the legal case involving the employee in the scenario you selected in Unit I, you are now asked to provide an assessment of the organization’s personnel management program, including processes used to ensure personnel are competent to fulfill their duties, have clear guidance, and are made aware of policies and procedures that will impact performance. You should discuss the local and state laws that may apply and their legal implications in this scenario.
Continue using the same organization on which you based your Unit III assignment research.
You should prepare your assessment as a report that responds, but is not limited to the following questions.
1.What processes are in place to ensure the new employee has read all organizational policies and procedures?
2.What evidence is there that the employee is aware of the expectations for their position?
3.Does the organization have a drug-free workplace commitment? How is this monitored?
4.How are personnel certification and licensure renewals handled?

As this case is hypothetical, you will use a current or former organization where you were employed as the basis for the organization of the subject’s employment. If you do not have current or former experience in an emergency medical services (EMS) organization, you may research and contact an EMS agency of your choosing to help answer the questions.
You should identify specifically those components that speak to the issues in the scenario you selected. Your paper should include a summary of the following:
1.The specific components of the application and hiring process used to determine whether the employee met the minimum performance standards that play a role in the case.
2.Summarize the steps taken by the organization to ensure ongoing competency in the areas of performance questioned in the scenario.
3.Identify any state or local laws and regulations with which your agency is required to comply that relate to the ongoing competency of personnel in the affected area.
4.What evaluation instruments does the organization use to measure competence in the affected area?
