With everything that we have covered so far in class, and what we read and see in the world around us, it is obvious that major changes are happening all around us. And, changes seem to be occurring at an ever increasing rate. As part of these changes, there will be changes in how healthcare is delivered to the society. Many new technologies are becoming available, although some are not yet in common use. These advancements are likely to result in cheaper, easier access to healthcare and new paradigms in healthcare delivery.
GROUP 4:  Do some web research and find a new or emerging technology that you believe will improve patient outcomes and/or improve the delivery of health care.  Explain what the technology is and how and why you believe it will improve patient outcomes and/or improve the delivery of health care.  Please put the name of the technology in your subject line and choose something that has not already been reported on by another student.

Based on your last paper, create a change-management plan. Put yourself in the position of a consultant making recommendations to the CEO of the organization.
Present your recommendations in a PowerPoint presentation of 10-15 slides. State how the organization can be better prepared to meet the needs and challenges of the future. Defend your argument.
Your presentation should include the following (at a minimum):
1)  an evaluation of the current situation (current culture)
2) an analysis of how the culture should change in order to better address the needs of the future (be specific!)
3) recommendations for change, with specific strategies that need to be adopted by the leadership, including how to communicate the changes and how to respond to resistance to change (Keep your recommendations to two or three, otherwise it becomes overwhelming)

1. The demand for healthcare administrators has gone up substantially over recent decades, as has the salary range for the position. The job of managing healthcare facilities has become more challenging and more important than ever before. How would you describe the dual purpose of financial management in health care today?
Your response must be at least 200 words in length.
2. Consider the Ridgeland Heights Medical Center (RHMC) actions presented on pages 11 and 12 of your textbook. The medical center is trying to counter a dwindling inpatient census at the facility. What do you think of the three strategies proposed here? Can you think of any other strategies that RHMC should consider here?

3.Consider the big picture of our American economy with health care being an important part of it. How does the large share of American gross domestic product (GDP) that we spend on health care each year impact our nation’s economy overall? What other areas of our economy may currently be suffering because of so much medical spending? In your view, can America continue to spend this much money on health care without sacrificing the quality of American life in other areas? Why or why not? Please support your position.
