What do you find are the best ways of dealing with stress in your lives?

This was the question:
What do you find are the best ways of dealing with stress in your lives? List your best stress reduction strategies, and classify them as problem-focused or emotion-focused coping methods.
this was my answer to the question:
Problem related coping is mostly applied in work related stress and in family problems like spousal conflicts. To cope with stress , it is best to take help from others particularly those who are experts in it like a family counsellor for family related issues . In emotion focused coping is required in situations where the stress trigger affects the emotional well being of an individual. The best example is here like a peron suffereing from cancer or is going through the stressful stages of pregnancy. In such cases social support works best to help ease out the stress. The Emotional coping methods would deal with focusing on the emotions and working through it .
this is one of the students answer to the same question:
students name:Fruzsina .V
I lost my job in April, right before I went to a month vacation – so this created a great stress in me and became very depressed. I used Problem-focused coping to find another one and spread my resume to million places – as I was really panicking to get any job possible. However as weeks passed by I realized it’s not a major tragedy and I can turn this into a wonderful journey and make it beneficial. So by reducing the emotional impact of this situation I applied Emotion-Focused coping. Soon enough I found a great job that fits with my school schedule as well. When I am sick I always use Emotion-focused coping as I ignore the illness as much as possible and focus on eating healthy, exercise and happiness – instead of acknowledging how sick i am and how bad I feel. If I get a bad grade I wasn’t expecting I mostly use problem-focused coping although many times I look at it as a challenge and an opportunity to be better the next time. I therefore ignore the bad grade and don’t let it influence me as much so in this cases I use Emotion-focused coping. Over the years I did realize whenever I apply Emotion-focused coping in order to solve problems I get way further in my successes and results as opposed to problem-focused coping. Through reappraising the stressor whenever it arises I can better myself as well as the quality of my life.

Reporters and photographers arrived at a Los Angeles park early. A football tournament was about to begin. But it wasn’t the outcome of the game that the journalists were concerned about. Rather, the game was unique as the teams were primarily made up of Muslim American men. Furthermore, it was the names of the teams that were drawing a majority of the attention. While names like “Muslim Football All-Stars” and “Playmakerz” did not evoke any questions or concerns, others such as “Intifada,” “Mujahedeen,” and “Soldiers of Allah” created quite a stir. These names were accompanied by logos including a masked man firing a slingshot and a horse-borne figure in flowing robes, carrying a weapon on his shoulder. Many members of the local Orange County community argued that the names and logos of the teams were offensive (Neiman, 2004). However, the participants stated that their team names and emblems were meant for entertainment only. Why did so many people get angry about this incident? At the 2005 Scottish Cup, fans of the Scottish soccer club, the Rangers (who are largely Protestant) jeered during a moment of silence meant to commemorate the death of Pope John Paul II. As a result, the tribute was cut short. The Celtics, the Ranger’s rivals, have predominantly Catholic fans who expressed their disappointment and anger over the incident. Again, why did some people get angry? Do we pay too much attention to symbols? Does this mean our anger is a product of pure imagination? Indeed, a burning flag for some people is an act of disgrace; for others it is just a piece of cloth on fire. It is appropriate to call somebody “white” in America but “whitee” would be offensive to some. Think about the growing influence of the cross-cultural perspective in psychology.
Consider the relationships between diversity psychology, cross-cultural psychology, and globalization. How does each enhance our understanding of human behavior?Bring to mind the ways in which feminist and black psychologies have enriched our understanding of human behavior
Imagine that you have been given the task to develop a short concept paper for an introductory psychology course. Your dean has directed that the course reflect the global and cross-cultural nature of psychology and include diverse perspectives from other psychologies including Black and feminist.
With these thoughts in mind, post the following :
Your rationale for a new course that focuses on global, multicultural aspects of psychology and an explanation of (1) how and why Black, feminist, and cross-cultural psychologies depart from traditional psychology and are thus important for the course; 2) how you would infuse those perspectives into the course; 3) the importance of globalization and its impact on the science and practice of psychology; and 4) how you can infuse the principles of Black, feminist, and cross-cultural psychologies into your role as teacher and as scholar-practitioner.
