Risk Factors, Goals & Objectives, and Educational Interventions

  1. Using the health issue you identified in your epidemiological analysis (unit 2), identify at least 5 risk factors associated with your that health issue.
  2. Using the risk factors associated with your health issue, write 1-2 program goals and 3-5 objectives for each goal.
  3. For each of your program objectives, please identify an educational intervention you would use to address the objective. Explain in detail what you would do, all learning activities and information presented must be cited. If you plan to conduct an educational presentation, please put it in PowerPoint format. Everything else can be explained within a MS Word document.
  4. Identify which health promotion behavioral theory you would base your program on and explain why.

assignment  2nd one
Part I
In the first part of your course Assignment, you will select a health issue to promote as well as a specific target population. In addition, you should elaborate on the 4Ps of social marketing to design your campaign and discuss the promotional strategies to be incorporated in the campaign.
Follow the link below to download a useful campaign design-planning template created by the World Health Communication Associates. Use this document as a guide to help you design a health promotion campaign.
The following information should be included in your Assignment: Part I submission:

  • Health issue
  • Target Population (i.e. demographic data, vital statistics, etc.)
  • 4Ps of Social Marketing applied to your campaign
  • Promotional Strategies for the campaign (i.e. printed and media)

Assignment formatting:
Your original work should be at least 2 pages, 12-point font, double-spaced. This does not include title page and references pages.
The viewpoint and purpose of this assignment should be clearly established and sustained. Assignment should follow the conventions of Standard American English (correct grammar, punctuation, etc). Your writing should be well ordered, logical and unified, as well as original and insightful. Your work should display superior content, organization, style, and mechanics.
The paper must follow APA Publication Manual style guidelines and be free of typographical, spelling, and grammatical errors.
discussion   3rd one
Learning Theory Application
Health educators need to be involved and engaged in the communities they serve. Discuss the significance of understanding and applying learning theory principles when addressing a target group’s (i.e. community) health behavior.
How can health informatics and resources compliment health promotion efforts and produce behavior change?
How would you incorporate both (informatics and resources) for the purpose of producing behavior change?
don’t join them together. separate them.

Gender and  Gender Identity

Week 11 Question 1

When you meet someone new, your brain automatically uses schemas to identify characteristics or behavior that would allow you to classify the person into a group that you may already know. While this is an adaptive and helpful strategy that the human brain possesses, when taken to an extreme, it could lead to the formation of unhelpful or incorrect stereotypes about groups. Take a moment and consider what you already know about intersex, transgender, or other gender variant groups from personal experience, academic or professional work, or influences such as the media. Is your knowledge sufficient to bring sensitivity to work with members of gender variant populations?
In order to bring full sensitivity and awareness to bear on interacting with members of a particular group, humans must bring conscious thought to their perceptions, in addition to the automatic thinking that occurs. In other words, acknowledge commonalities related to gender variance, but also research information on groups, take the time to become aware of individual differences, and always seek to bring cultural sensitivity to your professional work.
For this Discussion, you will research a specific gender variant group of your choice and explain strategies that could be used to increase sensitivity toward members of the group. Remember that, just as biological and psychological diversity exists in other facets of human life (e.g., cognition, personality), so too does it exist in sexuality and gender.
To prepare
· Select a group such as intersex, transgender, genderqueer, or a third gender with which you are not familiar (or the one you know the least about) and search for interviews, personal narratives, blogs, or any other form of information related to this specific population.
By Day 3
Post a description of the group or population you selected. Describe how your impressions, feelings or perspectives changed about this group as you researched the group. Looking forward, what strategies would you use to continue to raise your awareness and sensitivity toward this group?

Integrating The Research Process

Discussion: Integrating The Research Process

About 15 years ago, before evidence-based practice became a standard to which to aspire, a professor found an article describing a treatment program for substance-abusing African-American women that incorporated their children and aimed to preserve their families. The program was built around principles of African-centered theory. The professor thought the program appeared well designed and heartily urged students to study the article and possibly find ways to imitate the program ideas, if not the program itself. A few years later, the professor, having continued her education, especially in the area of research, searched for a follow-up on the program, perhaps reporting outcomes and evidence of effectiveness. No research evidence on the program appears in the scholarly journals. In fact, no evidence that the program continues to exist at this time has been found. The fact that what appeared to be a promising practice approach did not endure or have the opportunity to benefit from evaluation is unfortunate.

Note: This week you will work as a class to create a plan for evaluating the rite of passage program described in the assigned article. Each member of the class will be assigned one step of the research process:

1.Research problems and questions
2.Finding and using existing knowledge
3.Focused research questions and research hypothesis
4.Research methods
5.Sampling issues and options
6.Measurement
7.Data acquisition
8.Data collection instruments
9.Analyzing data
10.Disseminating research findings

To prepare for this Discussion, read the Poitier et al. study and then revisit what you have learned about your assigned step of the research process. Consider what would be the most important information to share with your colleagues about that step. Together the class will create a research plan for evaluating the rite of passage program described in the assigned article.
