Reducing Work-Related Stress
For the Unit VI Reflection Paper, you will begin by completing the self-assessment located here. This is the same self-assessment
that was included within the Unit I Non-Graded Learning Activity.
From this self-assessment, develop a stress mitigation plan for yourself. What lessons learned from your own stress
evaluation can you apply to current workplace practices? Include some effective emotional and physical coping
mechanisms that you believe would work in this particular situation in your stress mitigation plan. Additionally, think of a time
in your workplace where diversity or ethics were in the spotlight. Was this more or less stressful for you and the
organization?
Your reflection paper should be a minimum of two pages in length. Use your textbook and at least one outside resource to
support your reflection paper. All sources, including the textbook, must be cited and referenced according to APA standards.

   Risks, Benefits, and Diagnosis
Prior to beginning work on this discussion, read the required chapters from the text and review the required articles for this week.
The risk-benefit calculation for any drug assumes a correct diagnosis of the disorder. Many investigators and clinicians feel the current epidemic of child psychiatric disorders is largely due to inappropriate diagnosis.
Evaluate the risk and benefits of using psychoactive drugs in children correctly diagnosed with a disorder versus those incorrectly diagnosed with a disorder.
Consider the risks and benefits of not treating (drug treatment) a child because he or she is not correctly diagnosed with a disorder.  In your evaluation summarize the natural course of the disorder, the drug action on the neurotransmitter systems in question, and the likelihood of short-term, long-term, and permanent positive and negative effects of drug treatment. Make sure to take into account the ethical dimension of this risk-benefit calculation.

Rapid Review 3
Select a psychoactive drug that is of pharmacological interest to you, but not one you will review as part of your Critical Review or one that was included in your previous Rapid Reviews. For this paper, you may choose drugs of abuse; however, the paper must focus on the pharmacology of the drug and not on the social or addictive aspects.  If you focus on addiction and social impact, your paper will not receive credit.
In addition to the text, research a minimum of three peer-reviewed articles published within the last five years on your selected drug. Prepare a three-page summary of the drug using the PSY630 Rapid Review Example paper (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. as a guide. In your Rapid Review, analyze and explain the pharmacological aspects of the drug as they relate to the following: neurotransmitters affected, receptors, route of administration, half-life, doses, side effects, drug interactions, contraindications, and other important facets of the drug. Explain these aspects of the drug in terms of the psychiatric disorders indicated for the drug and the issue(s) associated with that use. If there is no accepted therapeutic use for the drug, evaluate and describe the actions of the drug with regard to the abuse process.
The paper:

  • Must be three to five double-spaced pages in length, excluding title page and references page, and it must be formatted according to APA style as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center. (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.

Assignment 2: (RA 2): Group Behavior Case Study
You learned that group behavior can influence human behavior and society as a whole. You will now have an opportunity to apply your understanding of the dimensions and theoretical perspectives that influence human behavior and identify services that promote healthy functioning. You will then create a report applying two behavioral theories and provide recommendations for effective behavioral strategies or other services.
Tasks:
In an 8- to 10-page paper:

  • Describe a case example of group behavior that resulted in a negative outcome (for example, hazing or bullying) in a community or social service setting. Explain the rationale for selecting this group and setting.
  • Identify a minimum of two behavior models and theories that apply to the example and highlight the manner in which the setting influences the behavioral outcomes. Justify your chosen models and theories.
