Research Analysis
In this assignment, you will study the methodologies used to analyze research data.
Research is often presented and interpreted by the reader. It is common to see assumptions about data based on scientific findings. You are going to visit a website and analyze the data based on the research findings presented.”Advocates for Youth” is a nongovernmental organization (NGO) that “champions efforts to help young people make informed and responsible decisions about their reproductive and sexual health” (2008). The organization’s website includes online resources on abstinence-only sex education. Those resources include research studies, showing that abstinence-only programs are ineffective, as well as reports by advocates of abstinence-only programs.
Review the studies that were published by each side.
Based on your review, analyze and evaluate the arguments for abstinence-only programs and alternative programs by completing the following tasks in a 2- to 3-page Microsoft Word document:

  • Select appropriate studies from each side of the debate.
  • List the studies you are using.
  • Create two columns, one for abstinence-only programs and one for alternative programs.
  • Under each column, list types of arguments that the authors make for their programs. Also, identify the types of evidence that are presented in each study.
  • After you have charted the arguments and evidence for each side, examine those arguments and evidence. On what basis is each side making its case?

Support your responses with examples.
