Prepare a power point presentation that discusses the bill that you were assigned in week 2. Use the information that you were given in Week 2 to prepare this presentation along with the information below.
From Week 2:

  •  Bill overview
  • Senator or congressperson sponsor
  • Advocates for the bill
  • Opposing organizations
  • Rationale for the bill: Why is it an appropriate bill to support nursing?
  • Financial effect for the individual or organization, as appropriate
  • What is the effect on the work environment?
  • What is the effect on job satisfaction for nursing?
  • Should this bill be supported?

 

Use the power of persuasion and be thoroughly convincing for both the pro and con side.

Include interpretation and development of policies and identify stakeholders such as HMOs, pharmaceutical companies, small and large businesses, Leapfrog, AARP, the American Association of Health Plans, and so forth.

We will hold a class discussion in the last few days after the power points are submitted to determine whether the class thinks your bill should be passed or not, based on the information you presented.
