The Role of Government in Higher Education
According to the Williams et al study, the US ranks as one of the lowest in terms of government influence and control over higher education and provides one of the higher levels of budgetary support. Discuss the measures they used to assess government’s role in US higher education – resources, environment, connectivity, and output. What is your sense of how well these measure government’s role? What other measures might you suggest and why? Do you agree with the conclusions of Williams et al? Why or why not? Respond to the postings of at least two of your peers by Day 7.
