Security Architecture and Design

Subject: Security Architecture and Design

it is a priority that students are provided with strong education programs and courses that allow them to be servant-leaders in their disciplines and communities, linking research with practice and knowledge with ethical decision-making. This assignment is a written assignment where students will demonstrate how this course research has connected and put into practice within their own career.

Provide a reflection of at least 500 words (or 2 pages double-spaced) of how the knowledge, skills, or theories of this course have been applied, or could be applied, in a practical manner to your current work environment. If you are not current working, share times when you have or could observe these theories and knowledge could be applied to an employment opportunity in your field of study.

For this discussion, you will selecttwo (2)of the parenting scenarios presented below. In your initial discussion, you will describe how to correct the inappropriate/negative behavior using research and references from what you have learned in class. You’ll need to keep a few additional things in mind:

For this discussion, you will selecttwo (2)of the parenting scenarios presented below. In your initial discussion, you will describe how to correct the inappropriate/negative behavior using research and references from what you have learned in class. You’ll need to keep a few additional things in mind:

child’s developmental stage (can they be reasoned with?)
application of operant conditioning (reinforcement and punishment)
is the punishment logical and can you as the parent follow through?
Be sure to locate peer-reviewed references (textbook is okay) to validate and support your ideas. When coming up with methods to help curb the negative behaviors, the only thing you are not allowed to use is physical discipline. While many of you may argue that you were raised with the belt and turned out fine, the purpose of this activity is to demonstrate that shaping behaviors does not require violence and can be done when approached from a developmental and creative standpoint.

Parenting Scenarios

Every morning, it is a battle to keep clothing on your 3-year-old.
Your preschooler (3-4 years old) has been reported kissing multiple childrenon the playground during recess.
Every time you give your 3-year-old child an instruction, they reply with,“No.”
Your 5-year-old is potty trained but gets so wrapped up with playingthathe goes in his pants or other inappropriate places (e.g. bedroom closet).
Anytime you are in a public place (e.g. park, mall), your 4-year-old takes offrunning.
You come home from work to find a new Picasso on your living room wall, completed with love by your 3-year-old artist.

Could you call China (PRC)s environmental protests or NGOsa social movement using Lius criteria?

Using material from the below readings to write a well-organized essay describing one of the following phenomena or institutions in Taiwan, South Korea, and/or China (PRC). Be sure to cite the readings when appropriate giving author and page number in parentheses.

The Hurricane Katrina Case

Unit 8: Review 1.3.1 “The Hurricane Katrina Case” on page 7. Put yourself in the Guardsman’s shoes. Answer the general question, “what would you do and why”? Would your force evacuation for those who do not want to go, or would you respect their autonomy? Apply any information from your last seven assignments and write a four page (double spaced) paper on your choice while describing the ethics of this case. You may use any information that you previously used in your assignments to create this paper. The goal of this assignment is to assess total knowledge of course material.

This is the big 200 point project (40% of the class grade). It is a 4 page (92 line minimum) paper that allows you to incorporate a lot of the material from the class to help you answer the question about Katrina. The main question that must be answered is this: IF you were a National Guardsman during Katrina, would you use force to remove the people who did not want to leave their homes, or would you respect their autonomy and let them stay? You need to construct an argument that addresses that basic question.

Please remember that even though you may choose to work on the papers ahead of time, you cannot post your papers until the appropriate week. Also, some of these topics will need clarification and special instruction which I have provided above, and will remind you of on the Discussion Board during the relevant week.
