· Review the Final Project Topics in this week’s Learning Resources and choose one of the topics provided. If you wish to propose a topic different from what is on the list, please email your instructor by Week 5 to request approval to use that topic for your Final Project.

· Select two psychological theories and consider how they relate to the topic you chose.

Final Project

· A comparison of the theories related to the topic you chose

· An argument as to which theory provides a better understanding of the topic

· An explanation of how psychological research grounded in these two theories helped you better understand the characteristics of the topic

Week 1 Project Essay—Using Primary Sources

Psychology is a science and is based on scientific methodologies.

Things to know:

  1. Primary sources are the actual articles written by the individuals doing the study.
  2. Secondary sources are articles written about the study (e.g., newspapers, magazines, blogs, Wikis, and trade journals).

  4. Locate one primary source study article that deals with behavior or psychology in general.
  5. The article should not be more than 5 to 6 years old.
  6. For your report, please provide a summary of the article that includes the purpose of the study (usually located in the beginning of the study), participants, methodology, and results. Conclude your report with your thoughts on the study.
