Inability to balance between personal life ambition and the school can be tragic. As Hoggart puts it, a scholarship kind presents a “friction point of two cultures” (Rodriguez 540). Rodriguez comes from a family background consisting of barely educated middle-class parents and enrolling into the school, as a scholarship student, makes up an entry in a novel environment. He admits to having forgotten where he came from (598). He is too ambitious in achieving academic success that he distances himself from his ‘helpless’ family. The inability to balance his school life, ambition and family life caused him guilt and shame. For Rodriguez, he chose school over his family.

Personally, I can relate to Rodriguez circumstances, given the situational similarities thereof. As Latino Puerto Rican, I happen to come from a low-class family, just like Rodriguez. When I awarded a scholarship for my studies, with the difficulty in affording school, I was filled with anxiety of success since this was an exceptional chance at hand. To achieve this, I needed support and help from my parents. However, when the parents fail to keep up with the standards of support one requires, other options are sought. Intrinsically, the teachers are the next most feasible replacement for the parents in regards to support. I did what Rodriguez refers to as “a transfer of allegiance that previously given to the parents, to the new figure of authority, the teacher” (600). The new environment of school got me exposed to peer pressure, from other students from high-class families and bullying due to the fact that I was on scholarship. The situation rendered me unable to play a sport. rather I concentrated on achieving academic success.

Resume summary Resume summary I am Cheng Qian, born and brought up in China with a great passion in the technology world. My educational background tells it all for I have a bachelor degree of engineering where I majored in the Information Security. That was in Sichuan University at Chengdu, China in July, 2012. Currently, am doing my Masters of Science in Information Systems & Operations Management (ISOM) in the University of Florida (USA), which I will be through in May, 2015.

Experience being the best teacher I have had it in an academic research which took four months in 2012 between February and May. The research involved the realization of image encryption based on Chaos System where I applied C++ programming and the logistics map of Chaos system to realize image encryption. I also made an analysis of chaotic image encryption. The research also opened me up to note the advantages of chaos system in the speed of image encryption.

In 2011, between the month of March and May I was an intern in Hwadee IT Corporation. The experience in the Corporation was an eye opener as I learnt the security of basic communication platform. During the internship, I did various activities such as maintaining the network environment, establishing a secure Network Operating System (NOS), encryption, certification and network defense. In addition, I went for another internship for three months at Anhui Provincial Hospital as from July I the same year. This gave me a chance to correct the system bug and customers’ needs during the commissioning and later communicated with the R&D department and assisted them to upgrade related models. I also communicated with customers who get to use the system to increase our work efficiency. Finally, I was involved in the testing of the system’s function at each stage, ensuring to meet customers’ needs to their satisfactory.

I have obtained various skills from my academics and the interns. One is in the Software Engineering which involves assembling language and Microsoft Visual Studio. The other skills I learnt are in Microsoft Applications and Operating systems.

Immigration is the permanent shifting of people from one country to another. Immigration brings many benefits to the developed countries, such as, increase in the available workforce, increase in the GDP, increase in precious talent, and formation of a diverse culture. Two of the most considerable factors, which make people migrate from developing countries to well-developed countries, include economic forces and presence of social connections. Let us discuss both of these factors in some detail.

Economic factor is the most considerable factor for many people who migrate or want to migrate to the developed countries. Better job opportunities, wage differences, better standard of living, and growth opportunities are some of those economic factors, which motivate a large number of people to migrate to the developed countries. Some other economic factors, which make migrate, include overpopulation, lack of jobs, and high cost of living in their home countries. Presence of social connections in the developed countries provides many benefits to the immigrants. Some of the most considerable benefits include assistance in finding good jobs and housing, assistance in getting familiar with the social norms and values, and assistance in adopting new lifestyles. When a person arrives in a new country due to any specific reason, he/she needs assistance of someone to get familiar with the new lifestyle in a proper manner.
