Examine the sources of evidence that contribute to professional nursing practice.

Examine the sources of evidence that contribute to professional nursing practice.
Question # 1
Describe a Significant Clinical Issue (graded, 25 points)
Nursing research is a dynamic process that includes multiple phases: defining the research problem; literature review; selecting a theoretical framework; choosing an appropriate design; defining a sampling strategy; collecting and analyzing data; sharing the findings; and using the evidence in practice. “In today’s healthcare systems, evidence-based practice involves integrating the best available evidence with clinical judgment, client values, and consideration of available resources. Evidence-based nursing practice involves rationalizing one’s actions with credible evidence of the effectiveness of those actions to promote optimal patient outcomes” (Ferguson and Day, 2004, p.491)
The Course Outcomes (COs) we will apply in Week 2 include:
• Examine the sources of evidence that contribute to professional nursing practice.
• Apply research principles to the interpretation of the content of published research studies.
To begin our investigation into research evidence, you will divide into your assigned groups and discuss your “assigned topic.
Please Answer the Questions Carefully.
My Research Topic is: Discharge Planning- from acute care to next level-Nurses role in discharge planning and how this impacts patient outcomes.
The guidelines for the Topic Search assignment are located in Unit 2 assignment tab. In this thread, you will address your assigned topic and provide the reference for the articles you located to support the Topic. Please review the current literature and provide an article that relates to your assigned topic. In this thread, please discuss how this article will be beneficial to your assigned topic. Please describe what makes your issue significant: be it the magnitude, the number of people affected, or the gap in knowledge.
Please write at least 200-250 words and include 1 professional source article (Reference) it has to be within the last five years.
Question # 2
Research Problems and Designs (graded, 25 points)
Finding and developing significant problems for research are essential to improving outcomes for patients, families, the profession of nursing, and the health care environment. Research problems focus on topics requiring investigation, which may warrant a change in nursing practice.
The Course Outcomes (COs) we will apply in Unit 3 include:
Examine the sources of evidence that contribute to professional nursing practice.
Apply research principles to the interpretation of the content of published research studies.
Evaluate published nursing research for credibility and lab significance related to evidence-based practice.
Please Answer the Questions Carefully.
My Research Topic is: Discharge Planning- from acute care to next level-Nurses role in discharge planning and how this impacts patient outcomes.
Discussion question lend itself to a qualitative or quantitative design? What level of evidence (research design) would best address the problem? Explain your answer. Based upon your individual search and assigned topic, please identify which research methodology best suits your topic search inquiry: qualitative, quantitative, or a mixed method approach? Be sure to give your rationale for your choice and support with literature.
Please write at least 200-250 words and include 1 professional source (Reference) it has to be within the last five years.
Question # 3
The Course Outcomes (COs) we will apply in Unit 3 include:
Examine the sources of evidence that contribute to professional nursing practice.
Apply research principles to the interpretation of the content of published research studies.
Evaluate published nursing research for credibility and lab significance related to evidence-based practice.
There continues to be gaps between theoretical literature and nursing practice. Nurses continue to struggle with deciphering what is credible evidence and fear leaving the comfort zone of “this is how it has always been done”. The internet is an excellent resource but it can also be a detriment when findings are not from scholarly resources or appropriate for practice. What are the gaps we see in nursing? It is essential we decrease these gaps and include the process of evidence based literature reviews into the hospital settings (Tagney and Haines, 2009). What resources would be beneficial in decreasing the theory to practice gap?
Please Answer the Questions Carefully.
Given your experience in search of your topic, what gaps in evidence were found? What challenges were there in finding appropriate search terms? What led you to believe the sources of information were credible, along with the credentials of the authors?
Consider your assigned group topic and describe the knowledge gap that research could fill. Next, identify the PICOT elements that might be found in a research question related to your assigned topic.
My Research Topic is: Discharge Planning- from acute care to next level-Nurses role in discharge planning and how this impacts patient outcomes.
Please write at least 200-250 words and include 1 professional source (Reference) it has to be within the last five years.

Review the Institute of Medicine (IOM) report: “The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health,” focusing on the following sections: Transforming Practice, Transforming Education, and Transforming Leadership.
Write a paper of 750-1,000 words about the impact on nursing of the 2010 IOM report on the Future of Nursing. In your paper, include:
The impact of the IOM report on nursing education.
The impact of the IOM report on nursing practice, particularly in primary care, and how you would change your practice to meet the goals of the IOM report.
The impact of the IOM report on the nurse’s role as a leader.

Discussion Post
Discuss the importance of statistics in epidemiology for Advanced Practice Nursing. In judging risky behavior, which is more informative, relative risk or attributable risk? Think of this in terms of making a decision yourself or advising someone considering engaging in a risky behavior.
Response does not have a word count requirement however all questions have to be completely answered. I need 2-3 resources and they must be cited. Response must be in APA format.

Gender And Health; Compare and contrast gender attitudes and behaviors from a cultural perspective.

interview someone who has a different cultural background from your own and is of a different gender. Then, self-interview and compare your responses with the person you interviewed. Finally, using both sets of responses, write 3–5 pages in which you examine cross-cultural and cross-gender similarities and differences in health-related behaviors.
According to Huff (1999), conceptions about health and gender held by various ethnic and immigrant groups within the United States may differ from and even contradict the health concepts of the mainstream society. This assessment will give you the opportunity to examine the concept of “being healthy” across cultures and genders, as well as look at how cultural differences inform social policy related to heath care.

Assessment Instructions

Complete the following:

  • Choose a person to interview from a different cultural background and gender.
  • Use the Health Behaviors Questionnaire located in the Required Resources to interview your chosen person and yourself.
  • Write up the responses from both interviews.
  • Analyze the responses:
    • What kind of similarities and differences did you find between your definition of “being healthy” and your partner’s definition?
    • What kind of similarities and differences did you find between your responses and your partner’s responses in the attitudes and behaviors concerning gender?
    • What, if any, are the cultural values reflected in your responses and your partner’s responses? Analyze any values you discover.
    • How would you evaluate current psychological research as it relates to understanding culture, gender, and health attitudes?
    • How can the knowledge of cultural differences inform social policy related to health care?

Additional Requirements

  • Include a title page and a references page.
  • Include an introductory paragraph and a concluding paragraph.
  • Include a minimum of two research resources.
  • Be sure to follow APA guidelines for style and formatting.
  • Ensure your finished assessment should be 3–5 pages in length, excluding the title page and references page.
