Assignment 4: HR Training Class

Imagine that you are a member of the HR department of a small US retail company and upper management has asked you to create a new employee customer service training class for all new employees.

Write a six to seven (6-7) pages paper in which you:

  1. Justify the use of a needs assessment of your company’s proposed employee customer service training, stressing five (5) ways in which such an assessment would expose any existing performance deficiencies.
  2. Develop a customer service training implementation plan and determine the method of training (i.e., presentation, discussion, case study, discovery, role play, simulation, modeling, or on-the-job training).
  3. Justify why you selected the training method that you did.
  4. Propose two (2) ways to motivate an employee who has no interest in attending a training class.
  5. Develop a survey to collect feedback from the employees who attend the training.
  6. Use at least three (3) quality academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not qualify as academic resources.

Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:

  • Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.
  • Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.

The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:

  • Design job and task analyses that align with the overall HRM strategy.
  • Design training and development systems to improve employee performance.
  • Use technology and information resources to research issues in strategic human resource development.
  • Write clearly and concisely about strategic human resource development using proper writing mechanics.

Verify your guess with the detail equations.c) For the same graph, consider a discrete time Markov chain (DTMC) where, every slot t, we move to a new nodeindependently and uniformly over all neighboring nodes.

Let G be a connected undirected graph with N nodes and L links. For each i ∈ {1, . . . , N} define di as the degree of nodei, being the number of links it is attached to. We take a random walk over the graph according to the following CTMC: Whenwe visit a new node i, we stay there for an independent and exponentially distributed time with rate vi. We then choose tovisit a new node j independently and uniformly over all neighboring nodes.a) Make a guess about the steady state distribution for each state i ∈ {1, . . . , N} in terms of di and vi.b) Verify your guess with the detail equations.c) For the same graph, consider a discrete time Markov chain (DTMC) where, every slot t, we move to a new nodeindependently and uniformly over all neighboring nodes. Show that the discrete time detail equations πiPij = πjPji aresatisfied for a particular guess probably mass function πi for i ∈ {1, . . . , N}.d) Consider the following modification to the DTMC in part (c): We transition according to the same DTMC. However,we stay in each state i for an independent random amount of time that has a general distribution with mean E [Ti]. It canbe shown that the fraction of time in each state i is proportional to πiE [Ti], where πiis the steady state distribution of thediscrete time chain. Verify this is true for the special case when Tiis exponentially distributed with rate µi. It follows that thesteady state results for the CTMC in part (b) are the same even if the time in each state is not exponentially distributed

Develop a strategic plan for the negotiation and conflict resolution for Quasimoto’s executive team for its first meeting with the Chinese.

Your abilities in international management have been recognized, and your consulting assistance has been requested. Describe the complaints and analyze possible causes.   How do these complaints relate to the factors which influence flexibility?

No unread replies. No replies.

Your initial discussion thread is due on Day 3 (Thursday) and you have until Day 7 (Monday) to respond to your classmates. Your grade will reflect both the quality of your initial post and the depth of your responses. Refer to the Discussion Forum Grading Rubric under the Settings icon above for guidance on how your discussion will be evaluated.

Flexibility and Wellness Research

Flexibility has a large impact on wellness. For this activity, you will examine the relationship between flexibility and wellness and assess the factors affecting flexibility. To begin, visit a wellness practitioner in your area and research the top three complaints he or she receives relating to flexibility.  Address the following in your post:

  • Describe the complaints and analyze possible causes.
  • How do these complaints relate to the factors which influence flexibility?
  • Which prevention tips and stretches does the practitioner recommend to minimize or eliminate these complaints?
  • Are these stretches static, ballistic, or proprioceptive neuromuscular in nature?
  • Assess and describe three ways that you will incorporate these tips and stretches into your own exercise routine and the routine of future clients.

Your initial post must be a minimum of 250 words.  Include the practitioner’s name, credentials, and location.  Utilize at least two additional scholarly sources (one may be your textbook) to support your explanation.  You are welcome to scan and upload any flexibility-centered materials provided by your wellness professional, to share with the class.  If you are unable to visit a practitioner, you may interview him or her via telephone or email.   Guided Response: Review several of your peers’ posts and respond to at least two of your classmates.  Compare and contrast your research findings and exercises with those of your peers.  Can you think of any additional prevention tips and suggestions to minimize flexibility-related complaints?  Please be detailed and include a minimum of 100 words per response.
