What would your diversity training look like? Provide details on the time, format, and topics covered.

You have just received an e-mail from one of your team members expressing concern about the lack of cultural balance in your team. The team member feels that she has fewer opportunities to train compared to her younger peers and that her ideas are often disregarded by others since they assume that she is not well-informed regarding technology or strategy. You are initially surprised on reading this e-mail, given that you have a team that seems ethnically diverse. However, the team member is concerned because she is fifty-two years old, while the age of the next oldest person on the team is thirty-nine. When you really look at your team, the average age is thirty-four. Given this information, you note cultural differences based on generational factors that could be pertinent. These should be addressed to help the team work in a more cohesive and productive manner. Based on the above scenario, using the module readings, Argosy University online library resources, and the Internet, respond to the following: •Training is one of the ways you can address cultural issues; however, do you think it is necessary in this case? •What would your diversity training look like? Provide details on the time, format, and topics covered. •What resources would you use, and what issues would you address (if any) with human resources? Would you take any other actions in addition to training?

Discuss your experience with the marketing  simulation. What did you learn? What did you achieve? What would you do differently?

* Example Answer:

To sum up my experience in one word it would be agonizing.  I say this because I became extremely frustrated throughout my time completing the simulation.  I made many mistakes in the beginning of the simulation and those mistakes demoralized me, making the entire simulation a miserable experience.  I did not have a strategy going into the simulation but after the first period when I made all of my decisions everything I had done worked. Stock was up, revenue was good, I was a marketing genius.  That first period gave me this psuedo confidence that ultimately destroyed me.  Every other period after, Allround, a name that will always give me nightmares, sank lower and lower.  I felt as though I was trying to climb out of a hole where the walls were made of quick sand.  The worst part about it was not only the feeling of dejection, but being forced to write about how miserable I had failed and how I planned to fix it.

During the course of this simulation I was completely reactionary. I had no money to spend because my budget was negative since the 4th period maybe 3rd.  So making decisions did not involve much strategy because I didn’t have any money to spend.  Basically, I had to cut spending in places (primarily advertising) and then try  and use that money to maximize areas that were successful.  It was like trying to revive a zombie, why do when it is already dead.

What did I learn? I honestly think I learned more about life than marketing during the course of this simulation.  I learned that sometimes you are going to have to write about your failures as horrible as it may be.  I learned all the different ways to make a successful company fail.  I learned how funny similes can be when describing misery.  I learned that if I would have done even slight research I could have aced this simulation. But ultimately I learned not to dwell on the past and live for the future. So I will gladly put this experience behind me and never look back.

What did I achieve?  It is hard to say exactly what I achieved, honestly I am not sure.  I achieved a mediocre grade on the simulation.  Something, I am not proud of but own up to.

What would I have done differently?  This is a weighted question I could go into all of the poor decisions I made throughout the simulation assess them and go through the alternate decisions I should have made based on my marketing strategy. I could analyze the products I chose to make for Allround and describe why they were bad choices, but I would be here for a fortnight describing the mistakes for second period alone.  When it comes down to it the only thing I would have changed is the time I decided to do research on this simulation.

Final Project Instructions

Instructions: Complete the following two assignments as your final project.  These two assignments review everything you learned from Chapters 1-8.

Assignment 1 (40 points)

Write an application containing three parallel arrays that hold 10 elements each.  The first array hold four-digit student ID numbers, the second array holds first names, and the third array holds the students’ grade point averages.  Use dialog boxes to accept a student ID number and display the student’s first name and grade point average.  If a match is not found, display an error message that includes the invalid ID number and allow the user to search for a new ID number.

Final Project Part 2 (40 points)

Create an application that contains an enumeration (enum) that represents the days of the week.  Display a list of the days, then prompt the user for a day. Display business hours for the chosen day.  Create your own business hours stored in an array; however, every day of the week should have different hours.  Although companies do not normally have different business hours every day of the week, programming your code with this difference will help in finding and fixing coding errors.

How did the leaders demonstrate flexibility and adaptability? Please provide examples. How did the leaders apply aspects of the path-goal theory to this situation? Provide examples.

Coverage by of the news is not carried out by any monolithic organization that gets to decide what is, and is not, the correct way to report the news. Today perhaps more than ever, the editorial or opinion piece of the news is more apparent and widespread than it had been in the decades before cable news, 24-hour-news cycles, and the rise of the Internet as a news source. This does not necessarily mean that the news has become any less impartial, simply that news organizations are more conscious of markets and demographics, the people they are trying to attract, than ever before.

For your assignment, find two articles that address the same issue produced by two different news sources (this cannot be the same AP story published by different sources). In a 2 page paper, provide a summary of what message each writer is trying to get across, and provide a brief compare and contrast analysis of the two pieces. Explain which piece you feel is more effective and why. Be sure to include links for each article in your assignment.

Please no Plagiarism.

Review the assigned article, “Leadership Lessons From the Chilean Mine Rescue.” Article is attached

Write a 500-750 word paper that analyzes the Chilean mine rescue. As a leader, you will be faced with responding immediately to solve issues. The Chilean mine rescue is an example of leadership under extreme circumstances. Reflect on this example to shape how you might apply the goal-path theory and the situational approach in an everyday, real-world situation.

Address the following questions and concepts:

  1. How did the leaders demonstrate flexibility and adaptability? Please provide examples.
  2. How did the leaders apply aspects of the path-goal theory to this situation? Provide examples.
  3. Did the leaders communicate effectively with all of the stakeholders involved? How could communication have been improved?
  4. How well did the leaders follow the situational approach to leadership? Provide examples.
  5. How does this example shape how you might apply the goal-path theory and the situational approach in a real-world situation, in your content?

Include three to five references to support your position.
