Purpose

  • CO 1 – Utilize prior knowledge of theories and principles of nursing and related disciplines to explain expected client behaviors, while differentiating between normal findings, variations, and abnormalities. (PO 1)
  • CO 5 – Explore the professional responsibilities involved in conducting a comprehensive health assessment and provide appropriate documentation. (PO 6)

The Assignment

The nursing process is utilized in a variety of nursing roles and health care settings. Whether you are working in direct patient care, telehealth, or in a leadership role – the basic model is the same! Take this opportunity to share how the nursing process is utilized in your own practice settings! Hint: Your assigned readings will be helpful in formulating your answers.

Please answer the following question in your initial post:

Describe how you apply the first step (assessment) of the nursing process in your current practice setting. If you are not currently practicing as an RN, you may use an example from a prior clinical or work experience. Include the following information:

  • Briefly describe your practice setting and the typical patient population.
  • Provide examples of key subjective and objective data points you collect.
  • Describe how you document your findings. Is there technology involved?
  • Describe your process of data analysis. What is the end result of this process? (i.e., Do you formulate nursing diagnoses and care plans, collaborate with others and/or make referrals?)

Remember to use and credit the textbook or lesson, as well as an outside scholarly source, for full credit.

Instructions:

Individual Project 1 – How to Get My Approval

Attention Please!

In IP1 you will (1) select a systems engineering project, and (2) prepare an outline of your project; (3) prepare an abstract/summary/outline of your project.

You need to obtain my approval BEFORE finalizing your selection of a systems engineering project.

You must send me an email containing a description of your proposed project. Do this by sending me your PRELIMINARY abstract/outline. I will evaluate what you submit and I will either (1) approve it, or (2) I will suggest how your project needs to be modified.

Part 1: Project Proposal  (1–2 pages)

Throughout this course, you will be developing a systems engineering management plan (SEMP) for a project of your choice. This week, you will choose a project and develop a proposal. The project can be for a systems engineering problem of your choosing, or it can be for the standard class problem. If you choose a problem other than the standard problem, it must be approved by the instructor. The proposal should consist of the following:

Working title: Systems Engineering Management Plan

Project summary (1/2–1 page): This will provide the context for all decisions made in the SEMP.

Short description of the focus of the systems engineering effort (1/2–1 page)

Identifies key assumptions about the systems engineering project implementation

Working list of project references (4–8 references): This will be used to guide your research. It is not the final list, but should be enough to give you a good start on your project (4–8 references should be provided).

Turn in your proposal to your instructor to get approval before beginning the project.

Part 2: Document Shell for SEMP

In the Discussion Board assignment for this week, you chose a SEMP template for your project. Create your shell document using the chosen SEMP template. You will add to this document each week as you complete your individual projects. Each week, you will populate the shell document with information that will be identified by section name. The final SEMP will be the Key Assignment that you turn in at the end of the course. The following is the standard template for the SEMP that is provided for the class. Your shell document may differ if you decided as a class to use a different template or if you have decided to use your own template (approved by the instructor).

Case 4.8: Did the CPA Violate any Rules of Conduct?

Mark had his own practice as a CPA and clients such as Pure Water company and Fitzgerald flooring. His clients had so much trust in him, to the extent they were giving him blank checks to pay their taxes to IRS. After a few years, it became known that even though Mark was receiving payments for his services he had not filed his clients’ taxes for more than five years, and Mark’s license was suspended. (Mintz & Morries, 2020)

The question asks to evaluate Mark’s conduct using the Six Pillars of Character and to say if Mark violated any rules in the AICPA Code of professional conduct. The question also asks if Mark should be permanently banned from practicing in the state.

The six pillars of character are respect, trustworthiness, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. (Character Counts, 2022) I believe that Mark violated all the six pillars described above. First, Mark did not respect the rules and his clients and also lost his trustworthiness by not following what his clients trusted him to do. He acted irresponsibly and without care by not filing and paying the taxes of his clients and creating a problem with the IRS for them. He didn’t act fairly by disobeying the rules and taking advantage of others and lastly, he did not behave as a good citizen would do.

Per the AICPA Code of professional conduct, a member should act with integrity, objectivity, and due care to protect the public interest. (AICPA, 2014) Mark did not do any of the above, thus he violated many of the rules and codes of professional conduct of the accounting profession.

I believe that Mark should be permanently banned from practicing in the state because he was violating the rules for many years on purpose and there is no excuse for that. Proverbs 28:6 says: “Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways.” (The Holy Bible) God teaches us that we should act with integrity and not take advantage of others to benefit financially or in any other way.

Physical Development (Gross Motor or Fine Motor) Activity Plan Start Assignment

Overview

Being able to plan, implement, and assess activities is an important part of early care and education. It is important that early childhood educators be intentional and purposeful when planning, selecting and implementing activities for children. The intent of this assignment is to help students learn about intentionally planning activities that connect developmentally appropriate materials and practices, academic content/standards, and assessment strategies.

Activity Plan _ Physical DevelopmentActions

After reviewing this week’s content/readings, you will use the information to help you create an activity plan. Please keep in mind that your activity plan should be an activity that you would implement as you work with young children. This week’s selected activity and activity plan is to focus on encouraging and supporting the physical development (Gross Motor or Fine Motor) growth/development of young children.

*To begin working on your activity plan please follow the steps below:

  1. Thematic Unit Focus -Identify thematic unit focus/title
  2. Target Age -Select the target age of the children for which this activity will be designed.
    • Select a different age group for each activity plan.
  3. MS Early Learning Standards- Locate the appropriate section in the MS Early Learning Standards that correspond with the age group you selected.
  4. MS Early Learning Standards-Within that age group of the standards, locate the appropriate content area based on the focus of the activity plan you are creating (e.g., Approaches to Learning, Social Emotional, Language & Communication, Physical Development, English Language Arts).
  5. MS Early Learning Standards-Within that content area, identify and select one specific standard (concept/skill) you will use as the focus of the activity.
  6. MS Early Learning Standards- Identify and select one specific standard (concept/skill) from another content area you will use as the secondary of the activity.
  7. MS Early Learning Standards- Identify and select one specific standard (concept/skill) from a third content area you will use as the third of the activity.
    1. For each of the 3 different standards when writing each you must include content area, domain, anchor standard, and performance standard)
  8. Activity Search & Selection-Using reliable, reputable, and professional sources search and select an activity. When searching for an activity be sure to remember the following:
    1. Thematic connection
    2. Target age (developmentally and age-appropriate)
    3. Standards (Focused and other selected standards)
  9. Activity Plan-Use the selected activity to create your activity plan. Be sure to use the activity plan template and guidance.
    1. Part I-The Box
    2. Part II- The Reasoning, The Rationale, The Why
  10. Activity Plan Submission- Once you have created and revised your activity plan, you will submit your plan in this week’s module
