Provide once again the data that you presented in answering part 2 of professional assignment 2. Calculate the mean, variance, and the standard deviation of each security’s annual rate of return. Calculate the correlation coefficient between every possible pair of securities’ annual rates of return.

CLA 2 Comprehensive Learning Assessment 2 – CLO 1, CLO 3, CLO 4, CLO 5, CLO 6, CLO 7

This is a complete written report  of your portfolio formation in a Word file. Your historical data and relevant derived values in tables can be pasted from your previous calculations in the Excel file. Please provide explanations of all calculations and the justifications in the Word format. Also, make sure to paste all underlying  Excel formulae that you used for calculations in the Word file.

  1. Provide once again the data that you presented in answering part 2 of professional assignment 2.
  2. Calculate the mean, variance, and the standard deviation of each security’s annual rate of return.
  3. Calculate the correlation coefficient between every possible pair of securities’ annual rates of return.
  4. Choose percentages of your initial investment that you want to allocate amongst the five (5) securities (weights in the portfolio). Create embedded formulae which generate statistical properties of the portfolio upon insertion of the weights. Observe the mean, the standard deviation, and the CV of the annual rate of return of the portfolio.
  5. Find the combination of the weights that minimizes CV of the portfolio. How the CV of the optimal portfolio compares with the CV’s of its constituents. What is the expected rate of return and standard deviation of the rate of return of the portfolio?
  6. Choose different values within the range of the standard deviation of the portfolio, and for each chosen value locate the corresponding point on the efficient frontier by finding the weights that maximize the expected rate of return of the portfolio. Subsequently, construct the efficient frontier of your portfolio.
  7. Assume that you initially invested $1,000,000 in the portfolio and that the distribution of the annual rate of return of the portfolio is normal. What is the distribution of the return of the portfolio 20 years after its formation? Provide the graph of the distribution of the return of portfolio.

Provide your explanations and definitions in detail and be precise. Comment on your findings. Provide references for content when necessary. Provide your work in detail and explain in your own words. Support your statements with six (6) peer-reviewed in-text citation(s) and reference(s).

*Please refer to the Grading Criteria for Comprehensive Learning Assessments (CLAs) in the University Policies for specific guidelines and expectations.

CLA 2 Comprehensive Learning Assessment (CLA 2) Presentation

In addition to your CLA 2 report, please prepare a professional PowerPoint presentation summarizing your findings for CLA 2. The presentation will consist of your major findings, analysis, and recommendations in a concise presentation of 15 slides (minimum). You should use content from your CLA 2 report as material for your PowerPoint presentation. In addition, you should include learning outcomes from all your major assignments. This would include PA 1, CLA 1, PA 2, and of course, CLA 2 (unless otherwise specified by your Professor). An agenda, executive summary, and references slides should also be included. Please keep in mind that the university is moving towards a more digital footprint for our students. This means that your final CLA 2 presentation may be recorded, so that you may include it in your “e-portfolio” (graduating students should have all of their CLA 2 presentations on a flash-drive, in addition to student biography, resume, interests, and so forth). Students will present their PowerPoint during the last week of class in either the On-Campus Class Session or the online Virtual Class Session, as determined by the professor. Presentations should not exceed 15 minutes.

Create a 5 pages page paper that discusses reflections of a soldier.

Create a 5 pages page paper that discusses reflections of a soldier. She now has to carry the burden of being both the mother and father to our three children. She has to step up and care for all the needs of our children and the upkeep of our home while constantly worrying about my safety. Ghayda’s job might not be as dangerous but it is equally difficult. She constantly struggles to keep our house in order and assures our children that their father would be home soon. A typical wife does experience the same struggles in everyday life. But the main difference is the typical wife does not constantly worry if her husband will come home—alive or not. This kind of stress is handled by Ghayda every day. She never told me, but I see it in her eyes. Would a woman in her right mind sign up for that? My brave Ghayda did.

My children are another story.

Ah, they are the ones who must learn to sacrifice and come to grip with the fact that I cannot constantly be with them especially on times that matter the most. On my last count, I just missed out on five birthdays, countless soccer practice and piano recitals, two graduations, one championship game, two dental appointments, and three live births. I never had the opportunity to be with my wife when she gave birth to our children. Such brave children, I am so proud of them.

As I ponder upon these thoughts…I have to reassure myself that what I do, I do because I love them, because I love my country.

As I strap my vest, the one I have labored for weeks, everything that I have been training for has come to this.

I am ready.

I double-checked the detonators. Good.

The bombs are all in place. I kiss the picture of my family one last time, the last time I would ever see them again.

The journey was long and hard, but it was all worth it. Fatima finally reached her destination, the land of “flowing milk and honey” as most people from her village would call it.

“Finally, a fresh start…”

She left her country to escape poverty.

Fatima grew up in a small fishing village in Pakistan. Her parents, despite being poor and uneducated, saw the value in ensuring that Fatima, unlike most of the children from her village would be educated.

Identify at least one area of grammar or punctuation in which you think you have room for improvement. How could you work towards the goal of improving in this area? Answer in one paragraph.

Discussion 1

WRTG 112 is a required course for all students, so that is probably one reason you are taking it. However, we all have individual backgrounds and goals that affect how we approach a learning experience. Read over the course syllabus, and then post your responses to the following questions in two paragraphs:

  1. What prior experiences do you have that inform how you approach this class? This could be, for example, writing experience that you think will either help or hurt you as you work on the academic writing assigned in class.
  2. What are some of your aspirations (educational, professional, or other goals) that you can work toward by taking Introduction to Writing, and how might this course help you on your path toward your goals? Which, if any, of the reasons for taking college courses discussed by Michelle Singletary in “Getting to the Real Point of College” apply to you?

Discussion 2

Personal Grammar Challenges

Each week in WRTG 112, we will have a brief lesson on a grammar or punctuation topic, and you will be encouraged to apply the lesson to your own writing. At the same time, you can be working toward your own goals for improved mastery of grammar and punctuation.

Initial post (by Friday):

Identify at least one area of grammar or punctuation in which you think you have room for improvement. How could you work towards the goal of improving in this area? Answer in one paragraph.

Create a 9 pages page paper that discusses human rights, global wrongs.

Create a 9 pages page paper that discusses human rights, global wrongs. In 1948, members of the United Nations (UN) convened at a convention aimed at addressing prevention strategies and legal implications against those found guilty of genocide crimes. It was during this convention that members defined the term as systematically planned annihilation of a group of people based on their nationality, race, ethnicity, or religion.&nbsp.

It is the presumption of most scholars that the prevention of genocide crimes hinges on the identification of intrinsic and extrinsic motivators that predispose individuals to engage in mass violence. Structural and individual theories of genocide attempt to explain these factors and conditions, which make it conducive for people with no prior intent of hurting others to participate in mass violence. Structural theories encompass cultural, situational, and institutional explanations, which are specific to a given society at a particular time (Charny 1982). Conversely, theories relating to individuals encompass situations specific to an individual and the psychology of individuals in a mob (mob psychology). Combined, these theories provide a holistic view with regard to the extent to which “ordinary” individuals perpetrate genocide crimes.

The basic presumption of structural theories centers on contextual factors, which mobilize individuals to participate in mass violence. According to proponents of structural theories, the occurrence of genocide crimes hinges on the existence of the right structural context. The contextual factors include characteristics of a specific culture, state, or the existence of a specific historical situation. Entrenched in this theory exists institutional explanations concerning individuals’ participation in genocide. The state represents an example of an&nbsp.institution whereby, these theorists argue that a state’s structure plays a pivotal role in molding citizens’ motivation. In addition, they infer that institutional hierarchy and the state’s capacity controls citizens’ inclination to perpetrate mass violence.&nbsp.
