Let us imagine that aliens arrived to the Earth to get acquainted with humanity. In order to understand people better, it was decided that the envoys should be incarnated as human, being born as usual girls and boys. The agents were to have enough freedom to move, think and speak, make decisions and choices of their own, – to put it in the nutshell, have all the opportunities for work and research of the complex subject on the study – the mankind. Several well-trained agents were prepared. However, the question was where they should be born. The population of the Earth was known for having numerous religions, differing in content and messages. These religions played a vital role in the life of the national, ethnic and racial societies, uniting them, dictating norms of behaviour, obligations and restrictions. The significance of the religions was so great that for many centuries religious communities stood at the top of the social ladder and were responsible for numerous wars and fights in the name of Gods. By the time the agents were to be incarnated, the Earth calendar declared the beginning of the twenty-first century. Most of the countries had secular societies, ruled by leading political parties. Yet, religious views continued influencing the decisions of policy-makers. After making some research on religions, the aliens were a bit puzzled. They could easily place their male agents in almost any part of the world, but they had some apprehensions as to the female agents. It seemed preferable to send them in the families of non-believers, somewhere in Europe or North America, while otherwise, the agents risked losing control of the situation and be strongly restricted by the religions.&nbsp.&nbsp.

All I remember was that as I was doing this, I gulped some water by accident, the chlorine taste that followed, then gasping for air for just a few moments. My recollection of the events that took place after that is somewhat foggy yet imprinted firmly in my mind, even today.

My next conscious memory was waking up at the hospital and hearing the story of how I had drowned but had been brought back to life by emergency technicians who were called to the scene following what my uncle believed was my death. Had it not been for the skills of this person and the CPR technique he used, I would not be writing this right now nor doing anything else, at any time. It’s what happened during my unconscious state that is burned most vividly in my mind and the proof that I have for the existence of God. This is a story I haven’t told very often or to very many people as it goes beyond the surreal and believable. I admit that had I not experienced it myself, I would be at the very least skeptical.

After the brief period of choking on chlorinated water, I began to panic but then I was very calm. The transition was instantaneous. I felt my body float upward but ironically, I was looking at my body which was floating on the water below me. I understood that I had died just then but I was unafraid and unconcerned. I knew I was dead but clearly wasn’t at the same time. I could see everything around me, the pool, my uncle’s house, the neighborhood, and my poor lifeless body below. I felt sorrow for that poor kid who had just drowned but strangely enough, felt no sorrow for myself. Unlike other life-after-death experiences I have read about since then, I saw no tunnel, no bright, white light. I felt a presence, almost human but not human at all. I heard a voice but actually heard nothing. I felt the tender caress of loving hands but no one was touching me. The presence related to me that I was not going to die, that I had a long life ahead of me and had much to do and much to experience before it was time to be here, wherever here was.

This leads to an increase in the gap between the rich and the poor.Flexible interest rates in most cases lead to increasing interest rates leading to a reduction in credit facilities for the small and medium firms.

This leads to an increase in the unemployment rate. Privatization favors the few rich and transnational organizations that grab the opportunity and amass a lot of wealth. Foreign direct investment, from experience, leads to the joining and acquisitions of existing companies. this leads to the reduction of the workforce. Property rights are rarely realized by the informal sector where they are more important (George, 2007).In conclusion, it can be said that the structural adjustment program has led to poverty among the majority in the concerned countries because they are only beneficial to a few.

IMF and World Bank need to enforce policy review on these conditions if they sincerely want to redeem the concerned countries from the chains of poverty.The presence of increased aid from China has greatly undermined the power of OECD donors to insist on specific conditions linked to international aid.
