Health Care Facilities Inc. (HCF)

Health Care Facilities Inc. (HCF) bought the real estate nursing home license all the equipment patient medical records and facility name of Crestview Manor Nursing Home II Inc. All other assets of Crestview were expressly excluded from the purchase. HCF was a self-insured employer for workers compensation purposes. HCF notified the state Bureau of Workers Compensation (BWC) of the purchase and asked it to add Crestview to its self-insurance coverage. The BWC refused saying that HCF had merged with Crestview by buying so much of its business. Had HCF merged with Crestview?
