Identify diseases with idiopathic, iatrogenic, and multifactorial causes

Review the following case study and discuss the question that follows.
1.TL is a 62-year-old male who was in a car wreck and who has been hospitalized for compartment syndrome from a left leg crush injury. He has areas of necrosis (tissue ischemia) seen along his calf. Tissue necrosis is areas of dead cells. It is imperative that the necrosis does not increase.
a). Discuss#1
The etiologies of cellular injury and death and what can be done for TL to maximize his care.
b)Discussion #2
Identify diseases with idiopathic, iatrogenic, and multifactorial causes, and discuss the importance of identifying risk factors for diseases. Explain how measurements of structural, physiologic, biochemical, and genetic parameters provide a basis for disease screening and identification of risk factors.

PSYCHOLOGY DISCUSSION QUESTIONS;describe Triplett’s research that demonstrates how individual performance increases in the presence of others,

Discussion #1. Sternberg and Sternberg present several paradigms and approaches, as well as their own views of thinking. Compare two of the following perspectives, describing first the two approaches you selected.
Next, note the apparent similarities in the approaches (for example, did they emerge at the same time? Are there similar research methods used?) and note their differences. Did one approach influence the other?
· William James’s approach.
· Behaviorism.
· Gestalt psychology.
· Wilhelm Wundt approach.
· The cognitive approach.
Discussion #2.Baumeister and Bushman (2014) describe Triplett’s research that demonstrates how individual performance increases in the presence of others, but in a seeming contradiction, tends to decrease when a person is part of a group performance. This is just a glimpse of the topics that social psychologists have explored and confirmed through research. As you go through the course, you will read about many past and present fascinating research studies conducted in social psychology. Social psychology relies heavily on research to understand how humans think, feel, and behave in social contexts.
For this discussion:
· Explain why research is so important to social psychology and why social psychologists rely on research rather than reaching conclusions based on perception or wisdom.
· Describe two different research designs that social psychologists use and what types of information can be gained from each. What are the limitations of each design?
In this, and in all your course discussions, be sure to offer support for your statements and follow APA guidelines.
Discussion #3. Throughout history, both scientists and non-scientists have struggled with the concept of mind versus brain. It has been a constant source of bewilderment whether the mind is in fact a dimension of the brain, or whether these two entities are separate. René Descartes (1596–1650) believed that the nonmaterial mind intervened in the operations of the brain. Material monists insist that the brain is a machine, and its operation accounts for the mind. Dualists, on the contrary, took their stand with Descartes and insisted that a two-way interaction operated between mind and brain.
To complete this discussion:
· Briefly summarize the history of the mind-brain problem and argue for the validity of either the monist’s or dualist’s theory. Although your text provides some information, additional materials will be necessary to craft a careful argument. You may wish to consult texts from other disciplines, including philosophy and economics, to support your position.

Describe the role of the pediatric nurse in the assessment and management of pain

QUALITATIVE NURSING RESEARCH
1. Find a qualitative nursing research study. (Article)
2. Read the article. (Attach article to Paper)
3. Compare the article to quantitative articles you have read.
4. Identify similarities and differences.
5.What are the components of the qualitative process? (Refer to page 135-136 of text book.) NURSING RESEARCH Methods and Critical Appraisal for Evidence-Based Practice 8th Edition Geri LoBiondo- Wood.
6. Which type of study do you prefer to read? Why do you like it?
Scholarly Paper: Pediatric Acute Pain
Project description
Objectives
Learn about pediatric pain.
Identify appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies.
Compare and evaluate theory versus practice in the clinical setting.
Recognize the importance of pain control.
Use critical thinking to discuss an important nursing topic.
Illustrate an understanding of the topic.
Become acquainted with relevant nursing journals.
Scholarly Paper Expectations
Define acute pain and its significance (i.e. explain why the topic is
important).
Describe the type of acute pain encountered and treated in the clinical area
(i.e. postoperative pain procedural pain and others).
Discuss current research on pediatric acute pain. Investigate and discuss
pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies appropriate for this type of
acute pain.
Compare how theory and practice differ and describe what appropriate pain
control should include.
Discuss what factors impact the clinical unit practices.
Describe and discuss what written policy and procedures should be available
in the clinical area.
Describe the role of the pediatric nurse in the assessment and management
of pain.
Address two feasible recommendations you have to alter and improve
current practice in pediatric nursing.
Include references from a minimum of 10 journal articles (articles should
have been published within the last 5 years); 50% of the articles must be
from peer reviewed nursing sources. Textbook and online resources should
be used minimally.

social psychology

Because social psychology is interested in the behavior of individuals in social situations, its theories and concepts are of great interest outside the field of psychology. The five application modules presented in your textbook illustrate how research findings from social psychology are used in other professional areas.
For this assignment, you will apply theories and concepts from social psychology to address a concern in a professional field other than psychology. Your first step is to choose a topic area from among one of the following:

  • Module A – Applying Social Psychology to Consumer Behavior.
  • Module B – Applying Social Psychology to Health.
  • Module C – Applying Social Psychology to the Workplace.
  • Module D – Applying Social Psychology to Law.
  • Module E – Applying Social Psychology to the Environment.

Your next step is to identify a concern or issue you would like to try and solve. Some examples might include:

  • The relationship of social media to overuse of credit in consumer spending.
  • The relationship of jury size to accuracies and inaccuracies in jury perceptions.
  • Inaccuracies in eye-witness testimony.
  • The relationship of time poverty to perceptions of stress.
  • Obstacles to change in a specific social concern:
    • Promoting healthy behaviors.
    • Promoting self-protection from abuse.
    • Intervening in drug abuse.
    • Other.
  • The relationship of work attitudes to job performance.
  • The effect of performance reviews on employee socialization.
  • The relationship between violent content in music lyrics and adolescent social behavior.
  • Barriers to overcoming a specific environmental problem such as:
    • Noise.
    • Pollution.
    • Excessive use of resources.
    • Other.

Keep in mind that these are just some examples. You may use one of these issues or concerns, or you may find another one of interest. If you have a topic in mind but are not sure if it is appropriate, please contact your instructor for approval.
The next step is to identify the theory (or theories) and concepts that you will use to define the problem in social psychology terms. Be sure you use theories and terms from social psychology for this assignment, rather than theories and terms from other areas of psychology, such as developmental psychology. Use any of the theories and concepts you have learned during this course, either from your textbook or from other professional sources, that you feel are relevant to the problem and to developing solutions. For example, the false consensus effect may apply when examining errors in jury decision making and ways to improve decision making.
The final steps are to locate appropriate resources and write your assignment. Locate and use a minimum of three resources to support your work. At least two of your resources must be original scholarly research studies on the topic.
Now, write your assignment. Be sure you include the following:

  • Provide background information from your resources to help you establish a foundation for the topic.
  • Present the research findings from your articles, and describe the research methods used in the studies.
  • Explain potential interventions or solutions that can contribute to a resolution of the issue or concern.
  • Analyze any ethical considerations relevant to the topic and to implementation of your recommended intervention or solution.

Assignment requirements:

  • Your completed assignment should be 4–5 pages in length (no more than 6 pages, please), not including a title page, abstract, and reference page. You may wish to use the Argument Analysis Worksheet located in the Resources to help you summarize the research findings and understand the position(s) of the author(s).
  • Use references from at least three resources.
  • Be sure to follow APA (6th edition) guidelines for format and style.
  • Use Times New Roman font, 12 point.
  • Double-space your paper.
  • You are required to submit your assignment to Turnitin. You do not need to submit the report with your assignment.

Refer to the Social Psychology Application Scoring Guide to ensure that you meet the grading criteria for this assignment.
